About Clean My Speaker
A free browser tool that plays tuned sound to push water and dust out of phone speakers.
Phone speakers go quiet and fuzzy for two common reasons: water sitting behind the grille, or dust and lint packed into it. Both usually clear with the right sound, played loud, for less than a minute.
Clean My Speaker plays that sound for you. It is a free web tool, so there is no app to install and no account to create. It works on iPhone, Android and most laptops in any modern browser.
How the cleaner works
Pick what happened
Choose It got wet or Muffled or dusty. Water gets 30 seconds of low 165 Hz pulses followed by a 100 to 500 Hz sweep. Dust gets 45 seconds of sweeps from 200 Hz up to 8 kHz.
Let the speaker push
With the volume all the way up and the speaker facing down, the cone moves hard enough to shake droplets and loose dust out through the grille.
Check the result
Tell the tool how it sounds now. If it is still muffled, run the 90 second Deep clean, or measure the speaker before and after with your microphone.
Everything happens on your device
Every tone is generated live by your browser with the Web Audio API. There are no audio files to download and nothing is sent to a server. The optional microphone check listens to your speaker while it plays and compares the result on your phone. Nothing is recorded or uploaded. Your settings and check history stay in your own browser.
What it can and cannot fix
Sound helps when the problem is something loose sitting in or behind the speaker grille. It cannot repair a torn speaker, a failed amplifier or corrosion from a long soak. If the speaker still crackles or cuts out after a few runs, the phone likely needs a repair shop or the manufacturer.
Want to go further than the presets? The tone generator plays any frequency from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which is also handy for testing a speaker.
Who makes Clean My Speaker
Salah Uddin
Creator and developer of Clean My Speaker
Clean My Speaker is built and maintained by Salah Uddin. He designed the cleaning programs, wrote the code that generates each tone in your browser, and writes the guides on this site.
How the tool is tested
The cleaner is tested on real phones, not only in a desktop browser. So far that means a Google Pixel, other Android phones and an iPhone 16.
Phones do not all behave the same way. iPhone browsers, for example, do not let a web page use the vibration motor, so on an iPhone the cleaner works with sound alone. Where a limit like that exists, the tool and the guides say so.
How the guides are written
Guides start from what the manufacturer says. Where Apple, Samsung, Google or another maker has published advice on water, dust or charging, the guide links to that page so you can read it yourself. Where makers and common practice disagree, as they do on rice or compressed air, the guide gives both sides.
Every guide shows the date it was last updated. If a maker changes its advice, or a reader spots a mistake, the guide is corrected and the date changes. The full process is in the editorial policy.
No ads, no accounts, no tracking
The cleaner is free to use. The site carries no advertising, needs no account and sets no tracking cookies. The privacy policy has the details.
